Hoover's Jewelers

The original owner of Hoover's Jewelers was Mr. Herb Hoover of North Platte, Nebraska which he started in 1930. In 1949, 54 years ago, Mr. Bonny Jurado joined Herb Hoover and staff. In 1964, Mr. Jurado started buying into the business. At this time, Hoover's Jewelers was only one store located in North Platte. Around 1977, when Mr. Hoover's son Richard passed away, Bonny and his wife Rose acquired the rest of the business from Richard's wife.

In July of 1988, the Jurado's opened up their store in Kearney, Nebraska with the original location at the Kearney Hilltop Mall. The Jurado's daughter, Linda (Jurado) Griffiths managed that store. In 1995, Linda took over ownership of Hoover's Jewelers in Kearney from her parents after their retirement. Linda graduated from the Gemological Institute of America and Jewelry Arts in 1985-1986. This summer will mark the 15th anniversary of Hoover's Jewelers in Kearney and the 5th anniversary of the store at its present location in the Downtown Kearney Centre in Kearney's "Diamond District". Hoover's Jewelers present location is about three times bigger than their Kearney mall location.
